Bright blue colored lenses

Most people who try blue contact lenses are looking for a bright, vibrant color. However, you need to remember that the real human eye is never too bright. Therefore, a lens that provides an incredibly vibrant blue color may be a little too bright to be confused with the actual color. Too much brightness is especially noticeable outdoors on a sunny day. On the other hand, bright lenses are perfect for night parties.

If you want a really bright blue, True Sapphire's Freshlook color blend is the way to go. Colorblends also only has “Blue”. This is nice, but it doesn't look very bright. True Sapphire is perfect for people with medium to dark colored hair and skin. If you have light blonde or red hair, a light blue will look better on you.

Blue contact lenses perfect for bright eyes

People with light colored eyes are lucky when it comes to colored contact lenses. They can wear both opaque and partially transparent lenses.

If your eye color is already blue or blue-gray and you want to brighten it, blue tinted lenses with enhancement features are perfect for you. Very good results can be achieved using Acuvue 2 Color Enhancer in Ocean Blue or Aqua (turquoise, natural looking effect). Durasoft 2 Colors for Light Eyes in Sky Blue is also a good option. It's not as bright as Acuvue, but it creates a very natural and soft effect.

If you have very pale eyes or skin, colored lenses will not only accentuate your colors but may also make your eyes appear darker. If you do not want this, choose opaque light blue lenses. The soft blue Ciba Vision illusion pairs very well with light blue contact lenses.

Blue lenses perfect for dark eyes

If you have dark eyes, you should use opaque colored contacts. Magnifying lenses do not change the appearance of your eyes. The True Sapphire Freshlook color blend above is perfect if you want really bright blue eyes.

For a more subtle look, try Durasoft 2 Opaque Colors. A light blue color with a slight purplish tinge is created. Durasoft 2 Colorblends is another option. Blue eyes create a very deep color. Durasoft 2 Colorblends are perfect for people with naturally very dark eyes. The deep blue illusion is also effective on dark eyes.

Which blue contact lenses are healthier and most comfortable?

All of the above lenses  are comfortable and natural-looking blue contact lenses. However, you should know that these contacts have different exchange plans. Acuvue 2 Colors are two-week disposable colored lenses, Freshlook Colorblends are monthly lenses, and all Durasoft and Illusions colored contact lenses are one-year. From a  health perspective, disposable lenses are better, especially if  you want to wear colored contact lenses every day. However, if you only wear colored lenses occasionally, Durasoft 2 Colors or Illusions are the best choice.
